talent

Guess whoooooo. :)

I'm a very happy boy today. I played with a Tamron 10-24mm f/3.5 and played more with my 50mm. The 10-24mm is an ultra wide angle lens, like, REALLY wide that kinda wide. xD

I was at college from 7.30AM till 9.30PM. I r super tired right now. Worst part was that I slept at 1AM this morning. *yawns*

Taylor's Got Talent 2010 memang showcased the best of Taylor's College Sri Hartamas. I'm really happy that I went for it instead of studying at home for my very much more important A2 exams. :)

The winners of Taylor's Got Talent 2010, the Korean Club.
50mm, trusty manual focus. :D

Guest band from Malacca (again, as for Earth Hour.)

Other contestants.
Phui Yuk's Tamrom 10 - 24mm f/3.5. Ultra wide angle! :D

Voting for the winner for the top 2 for TGT.
Wide angleeeeeeee.

I've got more pics, but I try to limit myself to 5 pictures per post, so yeah. :)

G'niteeeeeeeee. I really need to sleep. xD

Oh. I actually had a proper conversation with someone who I've been trying to talk to for a very long time now, since we met in January (someone I likeeee.) *happy* :D

sleepy

The flower.

I've got myself a slight fever. Damn it. )':

I came back home a bit earlier today, 4.00PM, which is definitely earlier than my daily return-home time. And I just crashed.

Slept for four hours straight. I was in a semi-conscious sleep where I could think what I want and sort of reminded myself that I shouldn't be sleeping right now. All I remembered was that I was vigorously thinking about finishing my Chem revision paper.

As bad as it sounds, it was actually the best sleep that I had in a very long while. Maybe I'm resisting the sleep too much, I don't know. )':

Tomorrow's Challenge
Since Chung Wye just called me and asked me to take photos for the Administration Staffs and PS2, I shall challenge myself and bring my camera and mount my manual focus 50mm. :D

Shooting the whole day in Manual Focus! :D

priority

Sunday, 25th April 2010.

A day with my 50mm @ Nikon Centre, Berjaya Times Square

About a month ago, I registered myself for a Photo 2 workshop at the Nikon Centre here (Berjaya Times Square). Having read through the syllabus for Photo 2, I decided that it would be (somewhat) beneficial for me if I joined this workshop as I really needed to learn more about depth of field.

Well, the first part of it was about Exposure and controlling your DSLR in Manual Mode. That I already know, but it was fun that I actually learned it formally. *coughselftaughtcough*

Heh, anyways. Pictures from today. :)

I MY 50MM.
Boo cause it's manual focus.

Overexposed by 1/3 f-stop.
Like how I take almost all my pictures. :P

Meet Danny Tung. :D
He uses a D90! *jealous*

Portrait of me taken by Danny.
Sadly my 50mm has no auto-focus. )':

Shooting in shutter priority. I increased the f-stop so the depth of field would be quite far, hence the awesome bokeh at the back. :)

Shooting in shutter priority again. Twist and turn!

Overall-y, I guess my day was fantabulous. Now all I need to do is concentrate on my studies. Tonight, I'll finish up Chem. Yay to that. Then Imma concentrate on Further Maths. :D

TOODLES.

parting

Meet Mewi Wan Mewobi.

I picked up another kitten from the roadside. :)

..

NAH, I'M JUST JOKING. :D

It's Mew Mew connecting to her dark side. Like they say, everybody has a dark side and all. So I guess this is Mew Mew's dark side. Mewi Wan Mewobi! HAHA. *syiok sendiri*

Exams are coming up in about less than three weeks. I'm supposed to be studying and I'm supposed to be in the 'studying mood' but I'm not. I don't know what will happen to me at this rate. If I don't start studying, there goes my conditional offer from University of Bath. And I can't let that happen. D:

I'm so excited about going to University of Bath! The people I'm gonna meet there. (Hopefully very nice people) The beautiful scenery at one of the most beautiful places in the UK.

The awesome sport facilities that University of Bath has to offer that the Malaysian Sports thingy had an agreement with the UBath to let M'sian athletes to train for the upcoming 2012 Olympics to be held in London which means that I will be able to meet all the famous M'sian athletes!

Yeah, that. xD

BUT my point is that I really need to get myself studying if not I won't even be able to book my plane ticket to London in September. FMLs.

Help?

I took both the SAM and CAL classes informal shots. :D

I kinda miss my class' photo-taking session last year where I asked my class to wear something blue-ish and all. I was bald back then, so my picture in the yearbook is a bald one. Oh well, what to do right? At least I got RM900 for being bald. HAHA.

I wonder what will happen to us all when we go separate ways and face the chance of not meeting with each other anymore?

But I don't think it will be like that. My college mates are special to me, I guess. We're in a totally different relationship compared to my secondary school mates. It's just different. There's a sense continuity in this. Hopefully we'll be able to meet up in London or somewhere there for a mini-reunion of some sort. :D

I'm trying to be happy here. *tries*

trip

Bottom of KLCC.

I had a fun holidays. Not only I was in college during the entire holidays, but I also went to various places in KL on Sunday, the last day of my holidays.

The Photography Club (which I involuntarily revived) had its first trip on Sunday! It was sort of a spontaneous one-week thing. It was also my first time taking the KL Hop On Hop Off bus around town. The best part that it's only RM12 for Malaysian students for an entire day's trip. :)

KLCC again. :D

We met up at about 8.30AM at the Orchestral hall entrance cause that's where the bus stop for the KL Hop On Hop Off is. Then off we go for lots and lots of shutter happy people! :D

Petaling Street.

Tunnel Warp! :D

Started from KLCC - Petaling Street - Walked to Central Market - Lake Gardens - Then back to KLCC! We stopped at lots of places in between, but meh. :)

Fun, but I was worrying about my trial results during the entire day. Sigh.

I FAILED FURTHER MATHS.

Happae 19th Barfday, Jie Cong! :)

That was the other thing I did the night before Sunday. =P

lens

The box. Look at how smooth the bokeh is! :D

I got my Nikkor 50mm f/1.8D. :D

My first non-kit lens lens! :D

I went to a shop in Berjaya Times Square cause the last time I went there, I asked for the price of the Nikkor 50mm f/1.8D. RM395.

I paid with cash. :O

Well, I was saving it for a several weeks already, so I guess it was okay. I felt kinda sayang when I handed the guy my money. D:

When I stepped in the shop, I asked the guy behind the counter, "Do you have a Nikkor 50mm f/1.8D?"

Then he asked, "Were you recommended from the Nikon centre?"

"Umm, yeah? How much is it?" (Actually no, I wasn't, I was just coming back here from the last time I was there)

"Oh, it's RM420."

Then I looked surprised. My mom, too. My mom was quick with her reply, "The last time we came, you quoted us the price of RM395."

He stunned. xD

- - -

ANYWAYS, my D5000 can't autofocus with this lens, cause the lens is a D AF Nikkor and the D5000 can only autofocus with a AF-S or AF-I CPU lenses only. So sad. But yeah, I'm already getting used to the manual focus.

But heh, the main reason why I bought the 50mm f/1.8D was for;

1) The clarity of images tha is produced, and

2) The awesome bokeh that comes with the f/1.8 aperture size. :D

I'll probably test out the bokeh tonight if my brother wants to bring me out for a night drive. But but, the bokeh in the first pictures shows everything! :D

Here's another picture of Brownie that I took earlier on.

Brownie's eyes are really nice. The clarity. :)

Oh wells, I'll definitely have fun with my new lens. :D

bath

Trials are over. *happy face*

That's probably the only reason why I haven't touched my blog for a such a long while, lmao. Yeap, it's not because some dolt decided to spam my cbox with retarded comments but just because I simply don't have the time. :D

For all I know, I'm definitely smarter than the person leaving those comments in my cbox. :)

So, I can't really be bothered about him/ her. :D

Thanks to the random people backing me up. No thanks to the dolt who's insistent on trying to do dunno what to me, heh.

I'm lazy to blog again, so I'm just gonna write this list down to remind myself of the things that I need to get done by.. sometime soon. *procrastination*

Four university rejections and four months later,

I got an offer to study at University of Bath! :)
Conditional offer: AAA (A for Physics and Chemistry)
Course: K100 (Architectural Studies)

I'm really happy that I actually got the offer, heh. Since it was the last university that replied me and all I had were rejections from the other universities that I applied to. )':

Oh well. Study hard, do well, get into University of Bath. :D
